Frequently Asked Questions
Why use the Internet to advertise, who really uses the Internet when shopping for a home?
Almost everyone uses the Internet to shop for a home, the Interent is the quickest, easiest way to look at a lot of homes in a short amount of time. Internet use has grown immensely over the last 10 years, over 80% of the population has access to the Internet. Real estate agents know the Internet is an effective selling tool, that's why they all have web sites. The biggest advantage to using the Internet is the increased exposure to potential buyers. People who use the Internet to buy a home know that there are many good quality homes on the market that aren't sold through a real estate agent, the problem is finding houses for sale by owner can be a hit and miss proposition.
An added benefit of Internet advertising is that it saves you time. The additional information and pictures that can be viewed by potential buyers allows them to better decide wether your property is what they are looking for. Consequently you get less calls answering questions and less showings of your home where the buyer is in and out in a few minutes. More information on how to take advantage of your internet sdvertising is available in Effective use of your Okhomeseller Listing.
If I put my house on your site, how will people find it?
There are several ways. First, the OKHomeseller site is registered with Internet search engines making it easy for people to find your property. Internet search engines (like Google) are the most common method people use to find websites. Second, we have reciprocal links with other web sites. Third, we advertise the website in newspapers in the Thompson Okanagan, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Some of the places we advertise are shown on our advertising page. You can also use the OKHomeseller site and your listing number in any additional advertising that you use (typically the newspaper).
What is your success rate?
Keep in mind that we are an advertising firm and not a real estate firm. We can't track home sales and statistics the same way a real estate firm can because we are not involved in the sale. We rely on the homeowners to tell us they've sold.
Having said that, we have had 2680 homes and properties sell since starting the OKHomeseller website in June of 2002. Approximately two thirds of the properties listed on OKHomeseller are able to sell on their own.
You can also read testimonials from some of our many happy customers.

Many of our customers do not have the internet, email or a computer. We can fax you a form to fill in by hand or you can print out the form and fill it in. Buyers can still contact you by phone.
