Real Estate Forms
An Offer to Purchase is a written contract that specifies the terms under which the buyer agrees to buy. This document (also known as a Contract of Purchase and Sale) also obligates the seller to sell his property once the offer to purchase is accepted. You can either accept or refuse the offer. If you accept it, it becomes a contract and you must respect the conditions or you can be legally pursued. If you refuse, you can make a counter offer, which can be accepted or refused.
The Offer to Purchase is presented by the buyer to the seller. If you are selling, it may be in your best interest to have a few blank copies yourself, in case an inexperienced buyer is uncertain where to start.
A free Property Disclosure Statement can be downloaded from MegaDox.com - they also sell a contract of purchase and sale for residential property.
A kit including the forms you will need, with step-by-step instructions can be purchased and downloaded from the Self Counsel Website.
As well, a BC Real Estate forms package can be bought at most stationery and office supply outlets.
It is strongly recommended that you retain the services of a real estate lawyer or notary to assist you with any real estate transaction.
