One of the most popular recreational destinations in BC.

The Shuswap area is one of the most popular destinations in British Columbia. Located in south-central B.C., the Shuswap is west of the Canadian Rockies, nestled amongst spectacular mountain scenery, midway between Vancouver, B.C. and Calgary, Alberta. The Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 97 make it accessible from all directions. On this site we advertise Shuswap real estate and other Thompson-Okanagan homes for sale by owner.

Shuswap is water country and the centerpiece is Shuswap Lake. Shuswap Lake is named after the Shuswap Indians. The Shuswap Lake system is composed of several arms and lakes. They include Little Shuswap Lake, Shuswap Lake, Salmon Arm, Seymour Arm, Anstey Arm and Mara Lake. The many lakes in the area are perfect for house boating, waterskiing, swimming and fishing. The local rivers are well known for white water rafting and kayaking. Shuswap Lake has approx. 400 km of shoreline with many provincial parks and offers unlimited water and recreational opportunities. The Monashee Mountains and their sub-ranges are renowned for heli-skiing and are ideal for skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking and camping

The region is scattered with unique communities of every size, each with its own attractions and economic possibilities. Some call the South Shuswap the "Heart of the Shuswap". It is conveniently located on the Trans Canada Highway. Here, you will find a recreation paradise.
